Close to home

Psychiatric care just south of Tyler

Our office is in Flint, a short drive south of Tyler along the lakes and pine forests of Smith County. For patients in Tyler, Whitehouse, Bullard, Lindale, and the surrounding area, that means physician-led psychiatric care close to home, in a private and unhurried setting.

Initial visits are conducted in person at our Flint office. When clinically appropriate, some follow-up visits may be offered by telehealth for patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit, a convenience for those balancing care with work and family in the Tyler area.

What sets this practice apart

Why patients choose us

Always a physician

At Northeast Texas Psychiatry, every appointment is with a psychiatrist (a physician who completed medical school and a psychiatry residency) and the same physicians who own the practice.

Evaluation, diagnosis, and prescriptions come directly from a physician, not from a nurse practitioner or physician assistant working under supervision. For anyone to whom that distinction matters, see exactly who provides your care.

Smaller panels, by design

We intentionally limit how many patients we accept so that visits are unhurried, diagnosis is careful, and treatment is planned for the long term.

That is also why we do not offer open online scheduling: every new patient request is reviewed directly by our physicians to determine whether we can responsibly assume care.

A direct-pay model

We operate as a private, direct-pay practice and do not contract with insurance. This preserves longer visits and treatment decisions guided by clinical judgment rather than third-party limitations.

Our fees are posted plainly on our services and fees page, and we can provide documentation for patients who wish to pursue out-of-network reimbursement on their own.

Conditions we treat

We provide outpatient evaluation and treatment for adults across a range of psychiatric conditions, including:

Getting started

Requesting care from Tyler

Becoming a new patient begins with a brief new patient request, which our physicians review directly. From there, care starts with a comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding the patient's history, clarifying the diagnosis, and building an individualized plan.

Prospective patients are welcome to read our frequently asked questions, review our services and fees, or begin a new patient request at any time.
